The successful applicant will have experience in provision of high-level specialist support, coordination, preparation and support to executives. Your previous experience in coordinating and leading key functions of a busy executive office will be highly valued as you work collaboratively with units of the entire Department to manage and lead the Office of the Deputy Director-General. Key responsibilities As Manager, you will specifically: Lead the Office of Deputy Director-General to effectively support the Deputy Director-General, ensuring appropriate governance, frameworks, policies and protocols are in place and consistently applied. Oversee the coordination of all incoming departmental and Ministerial correspondences to determine issues, provide responses and advice for the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Director-General. Manage critical tasks within the Office of the Deputy Director-General, interpreting needs, anticipating priorities and ensuring clear communication and information flow to meet the Division's needs and objectives. Establish and implement systems and processes to ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are clearly identified and met. Monitor and assess key issues, data and information relating to sensitive and complex issues to ensure the provision of accurate and timely advice to the Deputy Director-General. Coordinate and quality assure Ministerial and executive correspondences, briefing materials, and other briefing material for accuracy, relevance, appropriateness and alignment with the Department and Government's strategic objectives, policies and frameworks. Provide expert, evidence/ insights-based and trusted advice to the Deputy Director-General and other Executives on a range of strategic and operational matters to support and inform decisions. Develop and maintain relationships and engage with key stakeholders internally and externally, including ministerial staff and other government departments, and represent the department as needed.
