Senior Building Consultant PKL Recruitment is hiring an experienced Senior Building Consultant to join a respected building consultancy. This role suits someone with strong defect analysis skills, forensic reporting experience and the ability to manage complex building matters across residential high-rise and low-rise projects. About the Role You will be responsible for conducting detailed building inspections, preparing litigation-standard reports, developing remedial scopes, monitoring repair works and providing expert advice across a range of building defects. This position also includes mentoring junior consultants and contributing to strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed building inspections to identify defect causes, including design issues, construction faults and maintenance failures. Provide expert analysis and clear recommendations for remediation. Prepare high-quality forensic reports for litigation, arbitration and mediation. Develop remedial Scopes of Work and tender documentation. Monitor rectification works to ensure compliance with approved Scopes of Work. Act as an expert witness in tribunals and courts, including attending conclaves. Maintain strong and professional client communication. Mentor junior consultants and support team capability. Manage multiple projects to deliver strong client and commercial outcomes. Skills & Experience Minimum 8 years’ experience in the building and construction industry. Strong background in residential high-rise and low-rise projects. Expertise in defect analysis and water ingress investigations. Proven experience preparing litigation-grade technical reports. Excellent knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and industry best practice. Degree or equivalent qualification in Building, Construction or Engineering. Strong communication skills with high attention to detail. Ability to manage competing deadlines with a proactive and resilient approach. Professional presentation and commitment to quality. Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
