Global Technology Solutions (GTS) at ResMed is a division dedicated to creating innovative, scalable, and secure platforms and services for patients, providers, and people across ResMed. The primary goal of GTS is to accelerate well-being and growth by transforming the core, enabling patient, people, and partner outcomes, and building future-ready operations. The strategy of GTS focuses on aligning goals and promoting collaboration across all organizational areas. This includes fostering shared ownership, developing flexible platforms that can easily scale to meet global demands, and implementing global standards for key processes to ensure efficiency and consistency. The primary role of the Manager – Data Engineering within the Global Data Platform team is to lead a small team focused on orchestration platform, DBT platform, reporting platform and the automation of routine activities in our AWS, Snowflake, MongoDB, MSSQL and other related environments. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining reliable orchestration platform, establishing DBT best practices and development standards, and building automated solutions for tasks such as environment provisioning, deployments, monitoring and housekeeping. You will provide technical leadership, coaching and code review for the team, and work closely with DBAs, data engineers and analytics teams to ensure our data platforms are stable, high-performing and easy to operate. Let’s talk about Responsibilities Act as the escalation point for automation and orchestration issues across regions, leading investigation and resolution. Engage with vendor support to diagnose and resolve product-related problems and drive long-term fixes. Own the design, implementation and ongoing management of our DBT, orchestration, reporting platforms to ensure high availability, reliability and scalability. Implement and continuously refine cost-control measures across Snowflake, compute, reporting and orchestration infrastructure. Monitor and tune platform performance, including resource utilisation, job health, SLAs and system capacity. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack, including system failures, data integrity and data quality problems, replication and sharing issues, and access or permission incidents. Collaborate closely with data engineers, analytics engineers and data consumers to design, build and operate robust data pipelines and analytical workflows. Ensure the platforms comply with data privacy, security and regulatory requirements, working in alignment with security and governance teams. Stay current with new features and best practices in DBT, Snowflake, orchestration and reporting and recommend improvements to our data platform. Develop and maintain clear documentation for the platforms, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides. Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 10 years of related experience Data orchestration & workflow tooling Hands-on experience with modern orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect, etc.). Experience designing reliable, observable DAGs, including retries, SLAs, backfills, alerting and dependency management. DBT & analytics engineering Strong experience building and maintaining DBT projects (models, tests, macros, exposures). Experience with data modelling (star/snowflake schemas, data vault or similar), version control workflows, and CI/CD for DBT. Experience defining DBT best practices, code review standards and documentation. Reporting Platform Strong experience in one of the following reporting tools: Cognos or Tableau or Power BI or any other major reporting tool. Database & DBA automation Good working knowledge of Snowflake, MongoDB and MS SQL Server (at least one of the three in depth). Understanding of performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, security, backup/restore and monitoring concepts. Proven experience scripting and automating DBA tasks (provisioning, migrations, user management, housekeeping, cost optimisation). Cloud & platform Strong experience on AWS (IAM, networking basics, ECS/EKS/Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Secrets/SSM, etc.). Experience with containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes (deploying and operating services and jobs). Software engineering / full-stack Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Node.js or similar) and a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, etc.). Experience building internal tools and dashboards for operations and observability. Strong engineering practices: testing, code reviews, clean architecture, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing). GitHub & CI/CD Good understanding with GitHub workflows (branching, PR reviews, protected branches). Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for DBT, services and infrastructure (GitHub Actions or equivalent). Leadership & Ways of Working (Required): Technical leadership Ability to define technical direction, architecture and standards for DBT, orchestration and automation. Comfortable conducting design reviews, threat modelling and trade-off decisions across tools and platforms. Team leadership & mentoring Experience leading a team of engineers (work planning, 1:1s, feedback, coaching) and the ability to work with remote teams in different time zones (Canada, US, India). Able to grow mid-level and junior engineers in relevant technologies. Delivery, vendor & stakeholder management Track record of delivering roadmap items end to end: discovery, design, implementation, rollout and post-launch support. Strong communication skills; able to translate technical work into business impact for data, platform and analytics stakeholders. Reliability, security & governance mindset Familiarity with data security, access control and compliance considerations. Focus on building resilient, observable systems with clear SLIs/SLOs and runbooks. LI-APAC Joining us is more than saying “yes” to making the world a healthier place.
