CNC Operator / TA (Workshop Role) Hourly Rate: $57.36 Contract: 6-month contract with view to permanent Location: Bassendean workshop Shifts: Day shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm & Friday, 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm The Opportunity Join a leading engineering workshop supporting the rail industry. You'll be part of a skilled team working on locomotive wheelset overhauls, contributing to critical heavy industry projects. Key Responsibilities Operate CNC machinery on a locomotive wheelset overhaul line Wheel & axle machining Mechanical fitting and assembly Bearing installation and component measurement Machine wheels, axles, and support housings for locomotive components Inspect and interpret technical drawings and specifications Uphold and promote a strong safety culture About You Experienced in CNC operating and programming Skilled in setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components Kinwa CNC lathe experience preferred but not essential Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to machine components accurately High attention to detail with sound knowledge of measuring instruments Relevant trade qualification or equivalent work experience Clear communication skills, both oral and written Rail industry experience desirable but not essential - training provided for the right candidate What's On Offer Competitive hourly rate of $57.36 6-month contract with pathway to permanent employment Supportive team environment with training opportunities Secure workshop-based role in Bassendean
