We are currently seeking a Pastry Cook who is passionate about baking, decorating, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in producing the signature pastries and desserts. Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts in line with the employer's recipes and quality standards. Perform decorating and finishing to maintain presentation and brand consistency. Produce specialty items and custom orders, including dietary-specific products (e.g. gluten-free or vegan). Monitor baking times, oven temperatures, and ingredient quality to ensure consistency and excellence. Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in accordance with Queensland Health standards. Manage ingredient preparation, stock rotation, and ordering to minimise waste and maintain freshness. Collaborate with management and other kitchen staff on new product ideas, seasonal offerings, and menu innovations. Support junior cooks or kitchen assistants through guidance and teamwork. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Patisserie or Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent). Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in a commercial bakery, patisserie, or café environment.
