In this position based at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria, you will join our high performing Accounting and Finance team and will be responsible for providing exceptional support to all functions and processes within Accounting and Finance. This role will assist the Internal Controls and Governance Manager to oversee and improve Mercedes-Benz internal controls and enhance financial governance and processes. Key duties & responsibilities : Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (Australia & NZ) Support an effective Internal Controls self assessment program according to corporate requirements, compliance program and local laws and regulations in order to identify and mitigate risks Support Internal Controls management and roll-out in accordance to global guidelines Support change management initiatives in line with global standards Regular review of control design and execution and follow up on action items Facilitate ongoing training of internal controls topics to the business Governance (Australia & NZ) Assist with implementation of best practices from global Corporate Audit findings Adherence to and appropriate application of Mercedes-Benz Policies to Accounting & Finance local processes (including processes where FO are involved) Regular review of processes conducted across the local Australian team and the FO team will be required as part of the role including consideration of process efficiency and transition of local activities to FO Interpretation of guidelines as provided by FMS FC support department in HQ and appropriate follow up actions/enactment. Internal/external compliance submissions Other business management topics relevant for Finance where applicable General Finance process harmonisation and improvement (Australia & NZ) Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements, develop processes, and create efficiencies Assist the Manager to improve and innovate Finance and other relevant processes Where applicable, compare and learn best practices from other markets (including FO) to harmonise and streamline Finance processes What you will need to be successful : Degree qualified with a Finance related discipline (CA/CPA preferred) with a minimum of 2 years in finance / Management Accounting/ audit/ project management/ compliance or similar area, ideally within a comparable industry. Impeccable attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills. An agile mindset and analytical thought process.
