Our client is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services across a range of industries - including rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence. They are currently seeking an experienced heavy diesel fitter to start asap! Key Responsibilities: Disassemble, inspect, qualification and assembly of GE 7FDL heavy diesel engines Overhaul key engine components such as pumps, turbochargers and power assemblies Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in diesel engines and heavy machinery. Conduct thorough inspections to ensure machinery is operating efficiently. Document repairs, including parts used and time spent on tasks. Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure deadlines are met. Adhere to all company safety standards, procedures, and policies. Extensive in-house training provided To be successful for this role you will require: Full Australian working rights Relevant mechanical qualification e.g. Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter. Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter or in a similar role. Heavy diesel engine maintenance or component overhaul experience High level of mechanical aptitude Desirable to have experience with diesel electric locomotive engines Strong communication skills.
