Permanent full-time position. About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. This is a permanent, full-time position offering strong long-term employment potential at a long-life mine (10 years). You will report to the Engineering Superintendent and work on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth or Geraldton with approximately 1-hour travel time to site. In this leadership-focused role, you will apply strong technical engineering and project management expertise to plan, design, and execute projects that support operational growth and asset longevity. Your key responsibilities will include: Driving the end-to-end delivery of capital and sustaining project programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, safety standards, and regulatory compliance Providing mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering leadership across design, construction, commissioning, handover, and asset integration Championing technical governance, including leading design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments to ensure safe and cost-effective project outcomes Leading project scoping, business case development, cost estimation, scheduling, forecasting, resource planning, and project justification within financial governance frameworks Managing consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve safe, high-quality, and efficient project execution Mentoring and developing engineering talent, enhancing documentation control, and driving continuous improvement to foster a culture of technical excellence and team performance Supervising high-risk work activities and ensuring compliance with site and industry safety requirements About You The ideal candidate will have deep technical engineering knowledge paired with strong project management capabilities to deliver sustainable asset and operational improvements. Key qualifications and experience include: A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering Proven project management experience, ideally in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry Supervisory experience overseeing high-risk work activities Experience in underground or open-cut mining operations Experience working across mineral processing plants or heavy industry environments Strong contractor and stakeholder management experience Demonstrable leadership skills with a focus on safety, reliability, and asset life optimisation A current C-class manual driver’s licence About 29Metals and Golden Grove 29Metals is an ASX-listed mining company that produces copper and other base and precious metals critical to the global energy transition.
