Construction Site Supervisor – $65 per hour super Location: Waratah, Newcastle, NSW Contract Role Local Workforce Hire is hiring an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations across 4 residential new builds in the Newcastle (Waratah) region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a trade background who is ready to step up or further develop their supervisory career. This is a Government project. About the Role You will be responsible for ensuring the residential projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high-quality standard . The role involves supervising site activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing WHS compliance and maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily site operations in line with project plans and specifications Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring high workmanship standards Track project progress against the program and budget Submit weekly status reports, including risks and site updates Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and address safety concerns Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects and stakeholders Maintain accurate site records (diaries, ITPs, SWMS, inductions, compliance docs) Promote a strong safety culture across all site personnel Assist “on the tools” when required Travel to multiple sites within Newcastle as needed Key Requirements Proven construction industry experience with strong knowledge of methods and materials Strong understanding of WHS legislation, standards and codes Leadership capability and experience supervising or managing teams Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills Experience with Microsoft Project, Word and Excel (construction software desirable) Ability to plan, sequence and report on work packages weekly Preferred Qualifications Trade qualification (carpentry, civil, concreting, etc.) White Card Current driver licence Previous supervisory or leading-hand experience Why Join Local Workforce Hire? $65 per hour super 6 Month Contract Potential ongoing work Government project Professional development and the chance to support major Newcastle projects Work with a highly respected labour hire and workforce solutions provider Only candidates with full Australian working rights can be considered.
