The Katoomba Hotel is a landmark venue in the beautiful Blue Mountains, known for its warm hospitality, classic pub fare, and vibrant community atmosphere. We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver high-quality, freshly prepared meals to our valued guests. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from the à la carte and specials menu to venue standards Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation of all meals served Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and cleaning routines Manage inventory, stock rotation, ordering, and control of wastage (FIFO practices) Ensure compliance with NSW Food Authority standards and WHS requirements Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, cost control, and seasonal updates Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment Support smooth coordination between the kitchen and front-of-house teams during service About You Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) Proven experience as a Chef in a busy pub, bistro, or restaurant kitchen Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety, and allergen management Excellent time-management skills and the ability to perform under pressure Positive, team-focused attitude with good communication skills Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays What We Offer Competitive salary superannuation Supportive management team and friendly work culture Opportunities for professional growth within a reputable regional hospitality venue Staff meals and other in-house benefit Permanent full time role with a starting salary between $76K - $80K (plus super).
