The Alex Hotel is a popular dining destination in the heart of Leura, combining modern Australian cuisine with the charm of a Blue Mountains setting. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver outstanding food and memorable dining experiences to our guests. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a range of high-quality dishes from the 'a la carte' and specials menus Ensure consistency, presentation, and portion control across all meals served Maintain kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and cleaning procedures Monitor stock levels, ordering, and inventory rotation following FIFO principles Assist with menu planning, costing, and seasonal updates in consultation with the Head Chef Supervise, train, and support junior kitchen staff to maintain a professional team environment Ensure full compliance with NSW Food Authority food safety and hygiene standards Uphold WHS practices and contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen About You Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) Proven experience in a busy pub, restaurant, or hotel kitchen Strong understanding of food safety, allergens, and HACCP principles Excellent organisational and time-management skills Team-focused attitude and ability to perform under pressure Flexibility to work across weekends, nights, and public holidays What We Offer Competitive salary superannuation Supportive team environment and opportunities for career growth Staff meals and local employee benefits Work in a beautiful regional setting with an established hospitality venue Permanent full time role with a starting salary between $76K - $80K (plus super).
