The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an IT Coordinator to provide a critical role at Marngoneet Correctional Centre. About the Business Unit Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex is a medium security facility that houses a mix of sentenced and remand men and is located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne. The role of the facility is to contain men in custody safely, securely and humanely, focusing on the individual needs of the men with the aim of providing a successful transition back into the community or on their continued journey through the prison system. The facility has a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes and provides a range of engaged services. Our highly skilled workforce provides supervision and case management and are dedicated to enhancing opportunities to strengthen prisoner pathways. About the Role The IT Coordinator will fill the role of ensuring effective IT support is delivered in accordance with the Corrections Victoria IT Support Policy and Technology Services Policies. The role provides assistance in IT support to staff and prisoners and associated resources. This position will be involved in researching of new and existing IT platforms for our two annexes, Marngoneet and Karreenga. The role has the responsibility for ensuring that operational and prison related IT applications are effective and able to service demand. Some of your duties will include: Provide technical advice and support to staff in relation to department IT resources and local IT resources. Manage the local IT applications (Microsoft Access, Excel and SQL) and data collection tools for staff. Manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the prisoner network, prisoner computers and stand-alone systems to ensure compliance with local policy. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Highly developed computer skills and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the successful planning, coordination and management of effective computer applications and IT systems. Demonstrated technical support expertise and ability to explain technical concepts to suit the audience. Qualifications & requirements Experienced IT professional with a min 5 years' experience and can demonstrate experience working with management systems including Microsoft Access/Excel and SQL based data.
