Principal Finance and Procurement Officer (AO7) Lead finance, budgeting and procurement for a high-integrity Queensland statutory office Provide expert financial advice, reporting and governance oversight Drive process improvement, compliance and strong stakeholder relationships About the Organisation Eden Ritchie is partnering with the Office of the Queensland Integrity Commissioner (OQIC) to recruit a Principal Finance and Procurement Officer. The OQIC supports the Integrity Commissioner, an independent officer of the Queensland Parliament, who performs a range of statutory functions under the Integrity Act 2009. These include providing confidential integrity and ethics advice to designated persons such as Ministers and chief executives, regulating lobbying activity and maintaining the lobbyists register, increasing public awareness of integrity matters, and delivering education relating to lobbying regulation. The Office is a small, highly committed team dedicated to promoting integrity, accountability and transparency, and contributing to greater public trust in Queensland’s public institutions. The Opportunity The Principal Finance and Procurement Officer is the organisation’s finance and procurement specialist, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Services. The role ensures financial sustainability by developing and managing the annual budget, preparing financial submissions, and updating forward estimates in Queensland Treasury’s Tridata system. It leads financial planning, maintains budgeting tools, and provides reporting to support the Executive Leadership Team. The position also oversees annual financial statements with the shared service provider, coordinates audits and ensures compliance with accounting standards, Treasury requirements and legislation. Additionally, it manages procurement governance, maintains policies, monitors government requirements and supports staff with sourcing. The role is expected to drive continuous improvement by reviewing financial systems, strengthening compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, Queensland Treasury, the Queensland Audit Office and other stakeholders. About You The ideal candidate will have strong experience across financial management, procurement and public sector governance, with the capability to interpret complex information and provide high-quality advice in a fast-paced environment. Key requirements include: Extensive experience in financial management, procurement and public or private sector governance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret complex financial information and meet competing deadlines Sound understanding of Queensland public sector financial frameworks, guidelines, standards and legislation Confidence in advising senior stakeholders on financial and procurement matters Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (highly desirable) Advanced capability in Excel, Power BI and automation tools Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and influence others Commitment to continuous improvement and sound governance Benefits This role offers flexible working arrangements, a competitive salary with up to 12.75% employer superannuation contributions, generous leave entitlements and opportunities for professional development and growth.
