Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking a Principal Internal Auditor to lead complex internal audit activities for a high-profile statutory authority. This role provides independent assurance and practical advice to strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls across the organisation. Location: Brisbane CBD Contract Length: 3 months with possible extension Key Responsibilities: Plan, lead and oversee complex internal audits across operational, financial and compliance areas Assess compliance with legislation, internal policies, audit frameworks and professional standards Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance governance, risk management and control processes Provide clear, practical and risk-based advice to improve systems, processes and performance Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations for senior executives and committees Support the refinement of audit methodologies, documentation, tools and audit practices Contribute to Audit & Risk Committee support activities and organisational assurance plans About You: Proven experience delivering and leading complex internal audits within government or a regulated sector Strong understanding of governance, risk and control frameworks Ability to interpret and apply relevant financial management and internal audit standards Highly developed communication skills with the ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving capability Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and commitment to ethical conduct This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your internal audit expertise in a unique and high-profile environment, contributing to better governance and organisational performance.
