We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Parilla site located in the Mallee region of South Australia.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will provide effective and efficient mechanical service involving the repair, servicing, and modification of company trucks and agricultural equipment.
A salary package of $80,000 – $115,000 will be available, based on applicable qualifications and experience.

Duties include:
- Undertake routine servicing, maintenance, and modifications to all company trucks and farm equipment.
- Complete all works within defined time frames and in the most cost-effective manner according to maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the maintenance history for trucks, are recorded, and that relevant records and reports are prepared as required.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of workshop projects, taking responsibility as directed.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts, dismantling, and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
- Reassemble engines and parts after being repaired. Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair to ensure proper performance.
- Provide feedback to drivers, and other employees on routine inspection and servicing of farm vehicles entrusted to their care.
- Ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of tools, equipment, and company resources.
- Maintain inventory records and procure mechanical parts and equipment as required.
- Respond to emergency vehicle breakdown calls.
- All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV level qualification (certified trade) or equivalent plus at least 2 years of relevant experience OR at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in mechanical services.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with a mechanical workshop plant and equipment.
- Ability to confidently diagnose faults on site and in the workshop.
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence (essential)
