About the Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Ministry Leader to serve the spiritual, emotional, social, and physical needs of people within the Gladstone community. In this pivotal role, you will lead a community of Salvationists and friends in advancing The Salvation Army’s mission locally — bringing faith to life through practical service, worship, and leadership. How You Will Make an Impact As a key member of the Corps Leadership Team, you will: Actively share the gospel and model Christian living within the community. Facilitate worship, discipleship, fellowship, and special events that nurture spiritual growth and connection. Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to Corps members and the wider community. Identify and encourage potential candidates for Officership and Auxiliary Lieutenancy. Organise and lead prayer meetings, preaching and teaching as . Represent The Salvation Army as a visible and active leader in the community, collaborating with local services such as Doorways and Salvos Stores. Build partnerships with local government, businesses, and emergency services to support community wellbeing. Lead and support a diverse team of local leaders, staff, and volunteers, fostering unity, accountability, and purpose. Oversee budgets, administration, and building maintenance to ensure smooth Corps operations. What You Will Bring Proven spiritual and organisational leadership and a strong, active Christian faith. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of people. Tertiary qualifications ( minimum Diploma level) in Mission, Theology, Teaching, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent experience. Strong team-building and mentoring capabilities. A commitment to becoming a Soldier of The Salvation Army and signing the Soldier’s Covenant prior to employment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and special events (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Red Shield Appeal).
