ISB is the driving force behind Council’s digital evolution, setting the direction for how digital technologies connect and extend services while optimising Council operations. The Role Join our Information Services Branch (ISB) and play a key role in supporting Brisbane City Council’s digital operations. As a Service Centre Assistant , you’ll be the friendly and professional first point of contact for all ICT enquiries, ensuring incidents and service requests are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently. This role suits someone with a strong customer service focus, an interest in technology and emerging tools like AI, and a passion for helping others solve problems. You’ll work in a collaborative environment where curiosity, initiative, and clear communication are valued. Key Responsibilities: provide quality first-level ICT support and resolve issues at first contact where possible log, prioritise, and follow up on ICT incidents and service requests maintain positive and professional relationships with customers and team members develop and share technical knowledge to improve service delivery stay engaged with emerging technologies, including AI-based support tools, to enhance the customer experience. About You: excellent communication and customer service skills organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities curious about technology and enthusiastic about learning, especially in AI and digital service delivery demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of information technology previous experience in ICT support or a service centre environment is an advantage ability to contribute to team direction in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence Certificate III or IV in Information Technology (desirable).
