About the Opportunity Our client operates a substantial and expanding portfolio of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Australia. With significant investment in utility-scale storage and a strong pipeline of development projects, they are a leading participant in energy storage and grid services markets. They are seeking an Energy Networks Analyst to support their BESS operations, providing technical expertise in electricity networks, connection performance and network optimisation. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge energy storage technology whilst supporting commercial performance and operational excellence. As Energy Networks Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing network performance at BESS facilities, managing connection arrangements, supporting dispatch optimisation and ensuring technical compliance. You will work closely with trading, operations and technical teams to maximise asset performance and revenue. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyse network performance at BESS connection points including voltage levels, power quality, reactive power capability and connection point compliance. Identify and resolve network issues affecting asset performance, availability and revenue. Manage connection agreements and network service arrangements with transmission and distribution network service providers. Ensure compliance with connection requirements, performance standards and technical specifications. Coordinate with network operators and AEMO on operational matters. Analyse network constraints, curtailment events and marginal loss factors affecting BESS dispatch and revenue. Quantify commercial impacts of network limitations and develop strategies to minimise network-related losses. Conduct network studies to support new BESS projects including connection point assessments, hosting capacity analysis and network augmentation requirements. Coordinate connection enquiries and connection applications with network service providers. Perform power system analysis including load flow studies, fault level calculations, voltage stability assessments and power quality analysis for BESS facilities. Support compliance assessments including generator performance standards and connection agreement obligations. Monitor system strength, stability and protection coordination requirements. Support resolution of technical issues relating to inverter performance, grid forming capabilities and system security constraints. Ensure BESS operations comply with National Electricity Rules, connection agreements, network performance standards and AEMO requirements. Support preparation of technical reports and regulatory submissions. Prepare technical analyses and recommendations for management regarding network performance, connection issues and optimisation opportunities. Build effective relationships with network service providers, AEMO and technical stakeholders.
