The Opportunity McArthur is seeking an experienced EL1 Risk Analyst to support the National Measurement Institute over a 6-month term. The role will focus on the development of a single, clearly articulated risk framework covering all Legal Metrology Branch activities. This will include the review of existing, and the development of new policies, procedures, templates and tools. The opportunity sits within the Legal Metrology Branch, which has a critical role in ensuring Australian consumers and industry can rely on trusted measurements for fair trade in goods and services, and that traders comply with the law by adopting correct measurement trading practices. This is a casual position, with a commitment to full-time hours commencing January 2026, until June 30 th , 2026. Located in Port Melbourne. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for LMB. Develop and review policies, procedures, risk management tools and templates. Manage, deliver and monitor projects. Share knowledge within LMB and the NMI to improve risk maturity. Foster an environment of continuous improvement by keeping abreast of industry and government best practice and proactively engaging with stakeholders to deliver outcomes. Selection Criteria: Sound operational knowledge of related Acts & associated regulations Experience in contemporary database interrogation, analysis and reporting software Experience in project management, or relevant qualification Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective risk frameworks within a government or regulatory setting, including the development of policies, procedures, templates and tools. Demonstrated experience in developing and leading projects across multiple business units Strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
