About the Role The City of Port Phillip is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Senior Litter Bin Collector to support the delivery of high-quality waste services across our municipality. This role plays a key part in maintaining the cleanliness and amenity of our public spaces. Duties: Perform scheduled public litter and chute bin collections across the municipality Operate compactor and tipper trucks safely and efficiently (up to 13.9 tonnes GVM) Maintain cleanliness and conduct pre-start checks of assigned vehicles Use in-cabin technology to update records and report maintenance issues Provide on-the-job guidance to Litter Bin Collectors as required Assist with yard duties at Council sites when needed Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience in the delivery of litter bin collection services, with a sound understanding of operational procedures and service standards, and the physical capability to meet the inherent requirements of the role. Possession of a current Medium Rigid (MR) truck driver’s licence valid in Victoria, with a clean driving record and a demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices. Ability to provide on-the-job supervision and support to junior litter bin collectors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, service quality, and effective teamwork. Capacity to successfully complete all required pre-employment checks, including physical fitness assessments and police background screening. Strong commitment to working collaboratively within a team environment to achieve service delivery goals and maintain a safe and respectful workplace. Mandatory Requirements Current Victorian Driver Licence (mandatory) and a good driving record. Current Victorian Medium Rigid (MR) Driver’s Licence (mandatory). Ability to successfully complete VicRoads Driver Licence Verification prior to employment and as required during employment. Able to successfully complete pre-employment physical and police check screening. Ability to successfully complete a Medical Check (at the cost of council) through City of Port Phillip Medical Provider.
