This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Spray Painter to take ownership of a key function from the very beginning. Our client, based in West Melbourne, is bringing the Spray-Painting capabilities in-house for the first time, establishing a brand-new facility designed to support their manufacturing and product development pipeline. Working a Mon-Fri, 40 hour dayshift you will commence as a Flexi Personnel casual, with a view to be moved into a fixed term 12 month contract with our client after training is completed. What we're looking for: 4-5 years' experience in spray painting (automotive industry experience highly regarded!) Proven ability to work independently and take initiative. Experience setting up new paint facilities, workflows, or QA processes is a bonus Comfortable working through early-stage challenges as new systems and tools are established Someone who's not only technically skilled but also forward-thinking, adaptable and dependable - someone who sees the opportunity in a clean slate and wants to help shape the set-up. D uties will include : Responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing components, sub-assemblies, and finished products to a high commercial or industrial standard. Prepare surfaces using cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming techniques according to product specifications. Apply paint using spray equipment to achieve high-quality finishes. Mix and match paints, coatings, and finishes accurately, ensuring colour and consistency requirements are met. Inspect painted surfaces for defects and ensure compliance with finish specifications and tolerances. Maintain and calibrate spray equipment and tools in line with manufacturer instructions and company procedures. Assist with product development engineering (development of prototypes and first articles), including problem solving and process improvement Maintain accurate records of assembly procedures, test results, and inventory levels. Work closely with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical issues and optimize cable performance Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment Successful applicants will be required to pass a Police check and social medic check before commencing.
