The Opportunity: You will carry out hands-on maintenance tasks across a portfolio of sites, including disability residential homes, community centres, respite facilities, offices, and op shops, predominantly located in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. Your responsibilities will include: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will act as a primary contact for facilities issues and liaise with internal staff, residents, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and effective maintenance delivery Manage the site induction of all subcontractors performing preventative or reactive maintenance. Manage and co-ordinate all reactive work orders associated with the fixed assets at their allocated sites, including Building fabrics and finishes Raise and complete events in the asset management system for any maintenance issues as required. Manage all stakeholder relationships that are impacted by maintenance activities (internal stakeholders, third parties, residents) Regularly assign, coordinate, and conduct inspections and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safe work practices and that all equipment is operated in accordance with standard operating procedures and compliance certificates as required. An hourly rate of between $36.00 and $40.00 per hour, plus super, plus a fully expensed car, plus salary packaging, an employee's assistant programme, and basic tools, is on offer. This is a long-term, permanent career opening that will require you to manage your own workload and be active at various facilities daily, travelling to different sites. While the role requires travel to various sites, you have the option of Mulgrave or Wantirna as your office base when necessary. The Attributes and Skills We Require: We require a confident maintenance officer with a proven track record of building positive and respectful relationships with residents and staff. You will have a background in building and facilities maintenance, ideally in the aged care, disability, hospitality or retirement services sector. Knowledge and experience in facilities services, including Fire, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security and lighting. A proven record of time management skills, including the timely execution of work and consistency in adhering to all time-related deadlines and time frames. Computer literacy to use the property asset management system and Microsoft Office. You will need to complete a Police Check, a Working with Children's Check, and an NDIS screen at the final stages of the interview.
