Role 1: Capital Projects & Fixed Assets Accountant Contract: 23 Nov 2025 – 19 Feb 2026 with possibility of extension Pay Rate: $69.24/Hr plus super Key Responsibilities: Monitor and report on capital project financial performance Maintain & update the Asset Register Ensure compliance with accounting standards & Council policy Support year-end reconciliations, audits & financial reporting Validate project transactions & provide accounting advice Contribute to asset revaluations & funding/grant documentation Skills & Experience: Experience in asset financial accounting & audit compliance Knowledge of capital project accounting & asset management Strong analytical & problem-solving skills Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement Ability to manage priorities & work independently Role 2: Finance Project Officer (Disaster Recovery Works) Contract: 17 Nov 2025 - 30 June 2026 with possibility of extension Pay Rate: $57.80/Hr plus super Key Responsibilities: Monitor financial progress of disaster recovery projects Ensure costs meet QRA funding eligibility Provide guidance on budgeting, job costing & internal cost-recovery Prepare internal and external financial reports Assist with QRA claims and asset capitalisation Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants & funding bodies Skills & Experience: Local government or public sector finance experience Strong cost accounting & activity-based costing skills Proficient with financial systems & reporting tools High-level analytical ability & attention to detail Excellent communication & stakeholder management Ability to work independently & meet deadlines Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Current C Class Driver Licence Postgraduate qualifications in accounting, finance, or public sector management (Desirable) Why Join Us?
