The primary purpose of the CFOO is to manage the College's financial resources effectively, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, risk management and strategic financial planning. Additionally, the CFOO will have strategic oversight across Business Operations, Enrolments, Marketing and ICT and will collaborate with the Board, Suncoast Church and INC executive from time to time, to ensure financial stability and support the College's mission and growth. About the role Reporting directly to the Principal, the CFOO is responsible for the oversight and direction of the College's financial, operational and ICT frameworks and ensures that strategic priorities are achieved through sound governance, transparent processes and sustainable resource management. The role requires financial expertise as well as a deep understanding of the uniqueness of the education industry and will require a strong focus on long‑term sustainability, operational excellence and value for the College community. Importantly, the successful candidate will assist the Principal in meeting the College's obligations under governance, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, broadly and in terms of finance. The CFOO duties include tracking cash flows and major investments/liabilities, financial planning, overseeing the management of income and expenses, as well as analysing the College's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. In summary, he / she oversees the financial health and stability of the College, making critical decisions and recommendations related to finances and long‑term financial viability. Duties will include, and not limited to: Strategic financial management, budgeting and long‑term planning Risk management, insurance, compliance, governance and audit processes Investment, loan and treasury management strategies Management of Government recurrent and capital funding and grant application processes Ensuring proper accounting for and control over income and expenditure of the College Providing strategic oversight of the College's ICT and Business Operations through the ICT Manager and Business Operations Manager Contributing to the planning and implementation of the College and Campus Master Plan Together with the Business Operations Manager, overseeing risk management, workplace health and safety and compliance frameworks Serving as the Executive Liaison with the College Finance Committee and Board subcommittees Participating in the negotiation of College Agreements by acting as an Employer Representative Oversight of trading operations Compliance with all taxation responsibilities Providing executive leadership to the Finance Team, ICT Manager, Business Operations Manager, Enrolments Officer and the Marketing Manager About you Extensive experience in senior financial and operational management, ideally in education or not‑for‑profit sectors (the role would suit an executive level Business Manager or similar) Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional membership (CPA/CA preferred) Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams with excellence and integrity Strategic insight, analytical thinking and sound judgement Exceptional people management and team leadership capabilities , with the ability to foster a collaborative, high performing and multi‑disciplinary team centred on excellent communication, cooperation and knowledge sharing A personal Christian faith and commitment to the values and mission of the College Why join Suncoast Christian College?
