Category: Legal Location: Newcastle New South Wales Australia About the role Our client — a global insurance broking, risk management and consulting firm — is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker to support their branch by managing and growing a strong commercial client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high‑performing team and deliver expert insurance and risk advice, with flexible/hybrid arrangements available. Key responsibilities Partner with senior brokers to deliver exceptional client outcomes Manage and grow a diversified commercial portfolio to achieve profitable growth, strong retention and new business Build and maintain relationships with clients, underwriting partners and broader networks to support organic and pipeline growth Assess insurable risk, design appropriate insurance solutions and negotiate optimal outcomes Drive sales performance while managing operational tasks including budgeting, quoting and debtor control Build and maintain a long‑term pipeline to support new business growth Use core broking systems accurately and efficiently and support continuous improvement initiatives About you (required) Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (essential) Sound knowledge of general insurance principles and practices Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a focus on delivering excellent client experiences Clear and effective communication skills Proven problem‑solving ability and results orientation Highly adaptable and responsive to change Prior experience in a similar commercial broking role desirable Client benefits and culture The client offers a values‑driven culture and a comprehensive benefits package, which may include competitive salary, 4 weeks annual leave plus optional purchased lifestyle leave, novated leasing, paid volunteering days, health insurance discounts, employee share purchase opportunities, paid parental leave, flexible/hybrid work, wellbeing and mental health support, recognition programs, and access to retail discount platforms.
