With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Nephrology Registrars to join the Nephrology Department for the 2026 Medical Year.  About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.  About the Role: This role is an expansion of the Northern Health comprehensive renal service to meet the growing population of persons impacted by renal disease. This full-time position will complement and integrate into the existing three registrars that support the renal service and the one registrar that supports the Obstetric Medicine service.  This role incorporates renal inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory dialysis clinical care in hours with shared after-hours on-call responsibilities for the nephrology and obstetric medical services (divided amongst all registrars in the renal and obstetric medicine services).  There is scope for the individual in this role to further develop their nephrological procedural capabilities through learning or enhancing their ability to perform renal biopsies (both native and renal transplant) and central venous catheter skills.  This position will offer exposure and experience in diagnosing and managing nephrology and obstetric medicine disorders in the setting of a multi-disciplinary team and provides an excellent opportunity for a clinician to enhance their abilities in preparation for an Advanced training position in Nephrology.  To be successful in this role you will have: Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential â MBBS, MD or equivalent Basic Physician Trainee Year 3 training experience or equivalent A desire to continue Specialty Physician training and Specialty Physician qualifications. Demonstrated the ability to work in collaboration with members of interdisciplinary teams Excellent communication skills to provide effective and appropriate interactions and care to patients, families, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication of clinical information for clinical and administration purposes to ensure provision of multi-disciplinary, comprehensive models of clinical care.  Next Steps . . .
