Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to providing financial information and analysis for decision-making, planning, and performance tracking. Take ownership of month-end processes, analysis, and reporting across a large-scale, high-volume contract. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and accountability across the portfolio, contributing to the success of essential public services. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with both client and internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations, compliance with KPI requirements, and continuous improvement in reporting and evaluation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented, can-do attitude, with strong technical accounting skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting each month, quarter, and year. Manage all accounting functions including month-end close, variance analysis, and commentary. Oversee AR, AP, vendor claims, and client submissions, ensuring timeliness and compliance. Prepare detailed cashflow forecasts, financial reports, and budget insights. Use technology and Excel-based tools to streamline financial reporting and improve data quality. Manage all monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, client payment reconciliation and system data reconciliation, Support internal and external audits and ensure integrity of all financial transactions. Collaborate with operational teams to deliver contract KPIs and identify efficiency opportunities. Essential Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management accounting role, ideally within property, infrastructure, or facilities management (all levels encouraged to apply) Advanced Excel skills and confidence with financial data, analysis, and reporting systems. Proven experience managing large volumes of data and working to strict timeframes. Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously through full month-end cycle. Be motivated to find smarter, more efficient ways of working, with a keen interest in leveraging technology. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Membership (or substantial progress toward) CA/CPA/ICCA accreditation. Desirable Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. Manhattan, Pinnacle). Familiarity with government or public-sector financial frameworks. Proven ability to improve systems, processes, and reporting workflows.
