The Director, Organisational Development leads the planning, design and implementation of programs and initiatives to enhance the capability development across all levels of the Justice and Community Safety (JACS) workforce. The Director, Organisational Development will lead a small team, work in close partnership with other members of the People and Workplace Strategy (PWS) and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes for the directorate. WHAT YOU WILL DO Under the broad direction of the Senior Director, Culture and Organisational Development, the Director, Organisational Development will: Lead the organisational development portfolio including the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning and development projects and programs including delivery of the training calendar for all directorate employees. Plan and manage the JACS Workforce Capability Development Budget and procurement exercises to secure training providers Manage a small team and collaborate with other members of PWS in the design and delivery of initiatives relating to the culture of the organisation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters and people development. Design, develop and implement policies and organisational strategies including performance management, onboarding and employee lifecycle. Build relationships with staff across the directorate, particularly those with learning and development responsibilities, to support the delivery of organisational development outcomes. Provide sound advice to executive staff and managers on a variety of organisational development matters. Prepare a range of HR reports and complex written material including leading workforce submissions for the JACS Annual Report and the ACT Government State of the Service Report. Represent the directorate for and coordinate whole of government programs including Executive leadership, the Graduate program and the ACTPS Employee Survey. Model the ACT Government Values, the Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework and good Work Health and Safety practices. Eligibility/Other requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable. National Police Check will be required prior to commencement. Notes: An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk.
