Salary: $140,703.00 to $150,200.00 per annum plus superannuation Position Objective Play a critical role in identifying, facilitating and managing significant investment and other strategic projects and conduct high level business development and analysis activities within the Office of the Coordinator-General. Provide tailored case management and support to the Executive Director Special Projects and Chief Operating Officer to drive and deliver a range of private sector led investment initiatives to propel economic growth in Tasmania. Duties Account manage a range of medium and large investment private sector projects that propel economic growth in Tasmania and pro-actively assist proponents with their projects and interactions with government, all the way through to delivery. Provide tailored case management to facilitate Strategic Projects – projects requiring a minimum private investment of $5 million, 25 full time jobs, or are of key strategic importance to the state. Analyse and review business cases for projects including the commercial, economic, financial and technical aspects and the proponent’s business capability to support decision making on proposals and to provide recommendations across government. Establish, build and foster strong working relationships with businesses, government agencies and other key stakeholders to facilitate economic growth. Liaise, negotiate and coordinate with representatives of Federal, State and Local Government and agencies, industry and other key stakeholders to drive outcomes and elicit support for important projects. Represent the Office in negotiations and consultation with industry and government regarding investment attraction and industry development. Collate data and market intelligence on Tasmania’s target sectors, key markets and areas of competitive advantage. Assist the Executive Directors in the overall management and development of the Office’s investment team. Manage staff and lead and engage others in the development and delivery of initiatives to improve investment, employment and the business environment. Prepare a variety of well‑written documents including investment opportunity business cases, ministerial communications, board reports, briefing notes and project documentation. Lead, coordinate, or contribute to other business‑oriented projects as assigned, and undertake additional responsibilities within the Band 8 classification as required by the Executive Director Special Projects and Chief Operating Officer, in support of the Office’s strategic objectives.
