The Opportunity: We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Production Operator to operate the packing machines and perform routine maintenance daily to ensure the packaging plant is operating at full efficiency. This role reports to the Production & Planning Manager. Key Responsibilities: Machine operation: set up and operate production machinery according to work orders and specifications, ensuring materials are readily available. Operate and monitor manufacturing process equipment and retail packing machinery for optimal performance. Troubleshoot minor issues and fix machine malfunctions to avoid downtime. Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment according to safety and operating procedures. Assist in developing checklists and SOPs for all the processes and packing machines. Additional responsibilities in; Systems and Compliance, Logistics and Material Handling, and Quality Assurance. Opportunities for growth and leadership pathways available. Our ideal candidate will have a high level of commitment and a proactive approach. This ‘hands on’ role is suitable for someone with an output focus, who is able to think on their feet, troubleshoot and works well as part of a team. In addition, the successful candidate will have: Proven 2 to 3 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing setting, preferably in FMCG. Ability to operate and maintain machinery. Good mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose and fix simple machine issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills. Familiarity with SAP software is a plus but not essential. Current forklift certification (high reach experience desired). Strong communication skills. Capability to work under deadlines and adjust to changing priorities. Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Continuous improvement focuses on improving efficiency.
