Deputy Chief Executive Officer Disability Employment Australia (DEA) is the peak body for disability employment, dedicated to enabling all people with disability to achieve their employment potential. Role Purpose The Deputy CEO is responsible for supporting the CEO and leading key operational, strategic, and partnership functions across the organisation. The Deputy CEO will ensure the effective execution of strategy, oversee business operations, and drive improvements in member services, events, professional development, and partnerships. Key Responsibilities Support the CEO in managing and executing the DEA Strategy. Assist the CEO in preparing for quarterly Board meetings, including gathering KPI information. Oversee compliance with the Annual Governance Calendar and support Board elections and AGM processes. Policy & Member Support Act as an additional resource for member queries and support. Contribute to policy consultations and stakeholder engagement as required. Lead on the engagement of new members. Communications & Marketing Oversee the production and timely distribution of member bulletins. Ensure deadlines are met for website updates and content refreshes. Take the lead on fulfilling commercial partner requirements. Support social media activities and postings. Partnerships & Relationships Build long‑term relationships with commercial partners and engage new members. Events Take the lead on selecting event venues, negotiating contracts, and programming/coordinating speakers. Oversee advertising, marketing, and logistics for events. Oversee the organisation of webinars. Professional Development Oversee the review of training courses and allocation of CPD points. Lead negotiations with training partners and commercial arrangements. Support the promotion and sales of training to members. Finance & Operations Ensure strong financial controls and support audits. Split line management responsibilities with the CEO. Lead HR, WHS, and organisational policy updates. Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the business and uphold organisational culture through regular team meetings and catch‑ups. Skills & Experience Proven leadership in operational management, strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement. Exceptional knowledge of the disability employment sector, with a strong reputation and existing relationships. Good policy knowledge and writing skills. Experience in partnership development and team leadership. Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills. Ability to drive improvements in member services, professional development, and commercial partnerships.
