About the Role Join a major multi-year transformation initiative focused on modernising data, models, and systems supporting critical risk and finance functions such as stress testing, credit provisions, regulatory capital, etc. As a Senior Business Analyst , you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering change across multiple workstreams. You’ll liaise with diverse stakeholders to elicit and validate requirements for changes in business processes and systems, ensuring solutions align to the program’s target state. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity and can bridge the gap between business and technology teams to drive meaningful outcomes. Key Accountabilities Stakeholder Engagement: Gather, analyse, and confirm business requirements for data, model, process, and system changes. Solution Definition: Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories, ensuring technology outcomes are fit for purpose, testable, and aligned to the program’s target architecture. Delivery Coordination: Support testing, implementation, and change management activities to ensure new solutions are deployed effectively and meet regulatory and business needs. Role Type: 18 Month / Fixed Term What You’ll Do Requirements Definition: Collaborate across teams to document detailed business requirements and translate them into testable technical outcomes. This may include reviewing existing analytical or data transformation code to determine current state processes. Analysis and Design: Convert requirements into stories, acceptance criteria, and system designs. Analyse existing services, perform field-level data analysis, define intra-system mapping and transformation rules, and document interface specifications. Dependency Mapping: Document system dependencies, information flows, and constraints. Maintain traceability from requirements through design, build, and testing. Testing Oversight: Develop and govern test plans and cases. Participate in various testing cycles (e.g., UAT, SIT) to validate requirements. Where possible, promote test automation for efficiency. Change Implementation: Prepare teams for process and system changes, ensuring operational readiness and user adoption. Operational Readiness: Work with internal teams and vendors to ensure new features or platforms are ready for business use and post-implementation support. Issue Resolution: Analyse logs and data to identify root causes, manage defect resolution, and document learnings for continuous improvement. Collaboration Tools: Use platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and MS Teams to document requirements, designs, test evidence, and progress updates. Promote knowledge sharing and single sources of truth for project documentation. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with business SMEs, developers, testers, and vendors to ensure solutions are delivered cohesively. Facilitate workshops or working groups to resolve design issues and decisions, keeping everyone aligned. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks related to data quality, system dependencies, or testing impacts, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place. What Will You Bring? Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with credit risk and regulatory reporting processes such as stress testing, capital modelling, or provisioning is advantageous. Understanding of how data and models underpin these functions is valuable. Business Analysis Expertise: Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex transformation projects, including requirements elicitation, process mapping, and operating model definition. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse complex systems, perform root cause analysis, and synthesise insights. Experience with analytical programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL, or Python) is highly regarded. Testing and Delivery Experience: Hands-on experience in system and user acceptance testing, with understanding of both Agile and hybrid delivery models. Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and negotiate outcomes across business and technology groups. You can translate between business requirements and technical constraints, ensuring all parties have a shared understanding. Change Management: Awareness of change management and implementation practices. You anticipate the operational impacts of changes and work to ensure business readiness – whether it’s updating procedures, training users, or coordinating transition to BAU teams. Tools and Technology: Proficiency with JIRA (for backlog and issue tracking), Confluence/SharePoint (for documentation), Visio or similar (for process mapping), and standard MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Communication: Clear and structured written and verbal communication, with ability to present findings and insights to senior stakeholders. Visual communication skills (to produce clear diagrams or slides) are valued. Teamwork: A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence or lead others in solving problems.
