The Employer This is a family-owned and operated farming business that manages approximately 6,000 hectares (15,000 acres) of broadacre dryland grain farming across several properties near Dulacca, QLD, approximately 100km east of Roma. The main crops are wheat, barley, chickpeas, sorghum, and occasionally mung beans. The family is committed to progressive and innovative farming practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join a modern operation. The Role Join our current team and contribute across the full spectrum of our broadacre cropping operation. As a Farm Hand, you'll be actively involved in all seasonal duties. This includes operating machinery for planting, spraying, and harvesting and general farm maintenance. You will also be responsible for grain carting, assisting with earthworks, and carrying out essential machinery maintenance and repairs. They use modern equipment, including John Deere self-propelled sprayers, headers, and tractors. You will be working under the long-term farm manager, and we are looking for someone who can listen well and take instructions, but who also possesses the initiative to contribute efficiently and work independently once a task is underway. The location is very central, with the local primary school only 2.5km away and a school bus available. The nearest high school and town Miles are 44km away. Additionally, you should have the following attributes: Enthusiastic and efficient, as well as punctual and reliable Capable of listening to and following instructions from the farm manager or owner Able to work independently and take on responsibility Possessing a current Car License (Open preferred) Previous experience in a similar position is preferred, but on-the-job training is available Having a heavy vehicle license (HC) is beneficial, but it is not mandatory.
