Your Opportunity As the Manager, Employee Relations, you will: Assist in the leadership, management and delivery of industrial relations, human resource, employee relations and advisory services to stakeholders across TAFE Queensland. Manage and coordinate emergent industrial matters and other strategic and tactical related functions. Provide authoritative advice to senior managers and clients of TAFE Queensland on workforce relations issues. This position reports to the Director, Employee Relations. This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity, unless otherwise determined. The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility. Lead and manage the delivery of a broad range of employee relations matters, initiatives and projects including enterprise bargaining negotiations and outcomes, award development and maintenance, and emergent industrial relations issues. Establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholder groups, including other Government agencies and departments, senior managers and unions. Provide leadership in the research and analysis of emerging industrial relations issues and options and develop effective and comprehensive responses to such issues. Provide high level strategic advice and support to senior executives, managers and staff to support the effective and consistent delivery of industrial relations and human resource services statewide. Represent TAFE Queensland in a range of settings, for example, during enterprise bargaining negotiations; as a participant in high level forums and committees; or as an advocate in various commission and tribunal conferences and hearings. Lead and manage the delivery of strategic and statewide industrial relations initiatives and consultancy services in collaboration with and across a broad stakeholder group. Provide professional leadership and support in the implementation of Whole of Government and TAFE Queensland industrial relations policy and initiatives. Conduct major reviews on industrial relations services, practices, procedures and policies, including leading high-level analysis and developing and promoting changes to support TAFE Queensland objectives. How you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Demonstrated knowledge of industrial relations legislation, human resources policies, standards and procedures with the proven ability to apply such knowledge in resolving issues. Previous experience in/or knowledge of the Vocational Education sector and workforce terms and conditions of employment or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire such knowledge. Demonstrated high level consultative, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to deal with complex issues in a sensitive and impartial manner. Ability to lead, mentor and develop employees, identifying key learning opportunities for staff and empowering them by actively supporting them. High level expertise in managing the implementation of organisational change, organisational improvement and best practice concepts and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to construct project plans that have clear and appropriate goals, timeframes and budgets.
