The Corporate Services team provide the enabling functions to support the six programs deliver against organisational outcomes. The Facilities Manager is part of the Corporate Services team and is responsible for leading and coordinating a wide range of services to support the business and operating environment of the TSRA. The key duties of the position include The Facilities Manager has a range of enabling activities and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following: • Actively participate in the Corporate Services Leadership team. • Leading the TSRA Assets Services team and mentor, coach and manage staff in the team. • From a facilities perspective, provide and maintain a physical work environment that seeks to minimize risks to health and safety for all types of work and all workplaces covered by the WHS Act, and the Protective Security Framework including workplaces that are mobile, temporary and remote. • Providing oversight and project management of a variety of outsourced infrastructure projects both on Thursday Island and outer Islands throughout the Torres Strait region. • Leading the operational response to internal and external facilities related customer enquiries and requests in a timely manner, providing pro-active advice and outcomes focused solutions including managing complex matters and queries. • In consultation with TSRA's legal advisers engage with Traditional owners in the Torres Strait and negotiate Indigenous Land Use Agreements to secure land for construction of multipurpose TSRA facilities on outer islands. • Prepare regular management reports and papers relating to property and environment plans. • Work professionally, positively and cooperatively as part of TSRA, modelling the values of the APS Code of Conduct. • Lead and manage a portfolio of services to residences with respect to presentation to TSRA's standards, tenant interactions, maintenance and other property related matters. • Lead and coordinate property inspections, and the preparation of properties for incoming tenants. • Lead and coordinate the maintenance, registration and insurance services for TSRA's property portfolio, motor vehicles and vessels. • Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks as required.
