Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to assist in the research, design, testing, assembly, operation, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems. They must have the ability to analyse the results of such testing, and present the data in an easily interpreted manner to allow the simple analysis of the costs involved. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Assist in the preparation of electrical drawings and plans of electrical installations across our client base. Assist in the testing and data collection necessary when carrying out lighting upgrades, including before and after analysis, preparing reports for clients, LUX analysis and design, light spread etc. Preparing financial estimations for the particular upgrades with a focus on material costs and quantity of luminaires required. Assessing the compliance of installations to AS1680, with a heavy focus on product selection, lighting output, spread and pollution. Heavy involvement with regard to the analysis of metering devices and a focus on reducing the energy consumption levels by assessing options such as motion and daylight sensors, IoT devices, control devices etc. Being involved in ongoing research and experimentation initiatives the company is continually carrying out. The successful candidates will meet the following Requirements: At least a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and/or 3 years full-time relevant experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or similar role, preferably in the fire safety and electricity industry; In-depth knowledge of Electrical Engineering, LED Lighting, Emergency Lighting / AS1680 standards; Experience using Dialux Program, and being involved in LED lighting installations; Must be proficient in SIMPRO and Uptick software; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, team management, organisational skills with the ability to maximise resource utilization; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders; Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
