Description Job Title : Warehouse & Logistics Team Lead Location : Hillsdale, Sydney Overview of Role : The Warehouse & Logistics Team Lead is responsible for managing the efficient, accurate, and timely flow of goods across all warehouse and logistics activities. This includes inbound and outbound logistics, inter-org transfers, import/export compliance, shipping execution, and reverse logistics. The role is accountable for all logistics performance metrics (OTTC, OTS, freight cost efficiency, and accuracy) while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The Team Lead provides daily leadership to the warehouse team, drives process optimization, and serves as the first point of contact for Australia Post and other carriers. This position is key in ensuring customer satisfaction, cost optimization, and operational stability as the business scales. What you will do: Warehouse Operations: Supervise, coordinate, and actively participate in daily warehouse operations. Lead, mentor, and train warehouse staff to achieve targets in productivity, quality, and safety. Manage receiving, inspection, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch operations. Conduct cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliations to ensure >98% inventory accuracy. Ensure safe handling, space utilization, and compliance with health & safety standards. Oversee efficient loading/unloading of incoming and outgoing freight. Logistics & Transportation Management Own all key logistics performance metrics: OTTC, OTS, freight cost, and carrier service levels. Act as the first point of contact with Australia Post and other carriers for daily coordination, escalations, and performance reviews. Manage inbound and outbound transportation flows, including inter-org shipments and transfers across AU/NZ facilities. Optimize transportation planning and carrier selection to balance cost, service, and lead time. Negotiate, review, and monitor carrier performance to ensure reliability and compliance. Import, Export & Compliance Manage all import and export processes , ensuring compliance with customs, trade, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, certificates). Ensure customs declarations, tariffs, and duties are accurate and aligned with trade regulations. Support external audits and maintain compliance with all import/export legislation. Shipping Line Execution Ensure orders are prepared, packed, labelled, and manifested accurately and on time. Prevent misroutes, monitor track & trace, and resolve carrier issues proactively. Guarantee that all shipments are traceable and meet customer expectations. Manage documentation accuracy to eliminate delays in the shipping process. Reverse Logistics & Special Handling Oversee returns management, including inspection, documentation, repair, rework, restocking, or disposal. Lead Sample Room operations, ensuring close integration with shipping and logistics. Manage Goldstar special handling activities from startup through ongoing execution. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Serve as the first escalation point for all warehouse and logistics issues. Track, analyze, and improve KPIs in warehouse efficiency, OTTC, OTS, freight cost, and inventory accuracy. Drive continuous improvement and transportation optimization initiatives (route planning, consolidation, inter-org synergies). Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, customer service, and procurement to align priorities. Support and lead internal and external audits. Build a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
