Introduction We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Payroll Officer to lead our payroll function and support key financial processes. This standalone role offers variety and ownership, with responsibilities spanning payroll processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure our systems and processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include: Manage end to end fortnightly payroll processing for approximately 350 team members (Salaried and enterprise agreement). Maintain payroll systems and ensure data integrity, including creating new pay elements and leave types. Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with legislation, taxation, superannuation and the GCCEC Enterprise Agreement. Conduct post payroll audits, reconciliations, and end of year reporting (STP, EOFY). Maintain up to date payroll process documentation. Provide data reporting and analysis to support business decision making. Complete bank reconciliations and verify payment runs for accuracy and authorisation. Support month-end and year-end reporting processes, including journal preparation and uploads. ABOUT YOU! The ideal candidate for this role will have: Minimum 2 years hands on end to end payroll experience within a similar role. A strong understanding of payroll functions, superannuation, taxation workers compensation and novated leases. Ability to interpret awards and enterprise agreements. Experience with payroll and time and attendance systems (ELMO HR and Humanforce highly regarded). High attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills. Knowledge of general accounting and reconciliation processes. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team within predefined deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Well organised with excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
