Your next career opportunity As a Graduate Researcher Academic Associate in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to high-quality education while developing your teaching skills. You'll engage in leading-edge educational pedagogies, deliver sessional teaching activities, and work closely with subject coordinators to create and improve course materials. Your responsibilities will include: Deliver Engaging Teaching: Conduct tutorials, laboratory experiments, and field work in Infrastructure Engineering subjects. Develop Educational Resources: Create and improve teaching materials for both undergraduate and masters subjects. Support Student Learning: Provide consultations, assessment feedback, and monitor discussion boards to enhance student experience. Enhance Course Accessibility: Work on improving the inclusivity of teaching materials and the Canvas Learning Management System. You may be a great fit if: You are a passionate PhD candidate in engineering with a strong desire to contribute to education, possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse student groups effectively while advancing your own academic career . You may also: Be currently enrolled in a PhD or research doctorate in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Melbourne. Have passed your confirmation or be close to confirmation (within 2 months of starting the role). Have at least 18 months remaining in your candidature. Demonstrate strong discipline knowledge in Infrastructure Engineering, particularly in areas like spatial data analysis, geotechnical engineering, or structural engineering. Show excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills for effective teaching and student engagement. Exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in teaching. Be willing to undertake University-required training sessions and attend department meetings.
