The Ecological Data Analyst position presents an exciting opportunity for you to contribute your exceptional statistical analysis skills to inform conservation planning, on-ground restoration and evaluation of the ACT’s environmental offsets. This role will see you collaborating with ecologists, planners, spatial data experts, land managers and others in this complex and exciting field. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Mandatory: Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in environmental science, data science, statistics, or other related/cognate discipline. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au) Desirable: Experience in spatial analysis including familiarity with GIS software ( e.g. ArcGIS) and coding ( e.g. R, Python). Comfortable working long hours with computers and be able to attend the office in person two days a week. Willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months.
