About the Role On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Long-Term Planning Engineer (Senior/LTP Engineer) to join an established open pit gold operation as part of an expanding Technical Services team. This newly created position has been introduced to strengthen mine planning capability and provide additional horsepower to long term scheduling and optimisation. Reporting to the Mine Manager / Technical Services Manager , this role will support the Principal Mining Engineer and broader team in delivering detailed long-term schedules, mine designs, and waste management strategies. You’ll play a critical part in linking operational planning with strategic mine optimisation. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Life of Mine (LOM) and annual budget schedules in Deswik, Undertake waste dump design, haulage modelling, and mine optimisation studies, Support rapid pit design and integration of new mining areas, Collaborate with Survey, Geotechnical, Environmental and Mining teams to align designs with operational and regulatory requirements Provide input into project studies, scheduling reconciliation, and reporting processes, Contribute to continuous improvement of planning systems and workflows. About You Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent discipline, Proven experience in medium to long term mine planning within open pit operations, Strong proficiency in Deswik (scheduling, design, optimisation), Solid understanding of haulage analysis, waste placement, and mine design, Exposure to gold or hard rock operations highly regarded; strong coal planners will also be considered, Collaborative team player with a focus on technical excellence and practical outcomes.
