The Client: Cook Shire is the largest land area shire in Queensland. From the Bloomfield River in the south to just north of the Jardine River, it covers more than 100,000km2 and occupies 80 per cent of Cape York Peninsula. Cook Shire is a vibrant area, from the main township of Cooktown to smaller outlying communities rich in indigenous history, agriculture, tourism and arts. The current vacancy has come about as the result of the current Manager moving into an acting role for another department, therefore we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team for an initial period of 3 months with the likely possibility of an extension. Should the successful candidate be from outside the Cooktown area flights and accommodation will be provided. Strong background in civil infrastructure, engineering design, asset management, and capital works delivery.
