The Office of the Chief Risk Officer is accountable to the Commissioner for the development of risk and business continuity frameworks, a strong risk management culture and integration of risk management into all areas of QPS. As Manager Risk and Business Continuity Planning, you'll be leading and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of QPS Risk Management and Business Continuity frameworks, activities, and capabilities, incorporating best practice in governance, management, assurance, skill, and knowledge development. Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: Leading the development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of Risk and Business Continuity frameworks, governance, policies, guidelines, and procedures across the QPS including Marine Rescue Queensland and State Emergency Services. Promotion of a systematic, positive risk and compliance culture across the QPS while fulfilling the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS's vison, objectives, and values as outlined above. High level analysis, strategic problem solving, and development of high-quality submissions for the QPS Leadership team. Leading a coordinated approach to oversight and management of the QPS risk registers, continuity plans and internal intranet pages. Provision of specialist advice and clear rationale to senior stakeholders navigating complex risk and continuity challenges. Management of staff, allocation and oversight of work within the Chief Risk Office and prioritising the program of work deliverables. Oversight of budget, invoices and purchase orders for the Chief Risk Office. Proactive research and identification of emerging risk and continuity related matters for the QPS, with communication to appropriate stakeholders for action. Review of relevant audits and report findings and strategies to mitigate risks and to ensure that processes are undertaken in accordance with governance frameworks At times, represent the Chief Risk Office at QPS governance and working group committees and external forums. Role Requirements Mandatory Demonstrated experience leading Risk Management or Business Continuity Management programs. Qualification Qualifications in Business Continuity Management aligning to ISO 22301 and qualifications in Risk Management aligning to ISO 31000 are desirable but not mandatory. Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience It is highly desirable that the applicant has led a program across a large organisation. Substantial high-level experience in Risk Management or Business Continuity within a complex organisation is also highly desirable. Other Intrastate travel may be required from time to time and is subject to negotiation. The successful applicant will be required to undertake additional National security clearances to fulfill the obligations of the role. This role is based in Brisbane Inner City.
