Osborne Richardson are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Internal Auditor to join the team at the City of Moreton Bay in Northern Brisbane. You will initially link up for 3 months but it is expected that the role will continue onwards from there. This role will certainly sing to you if you also have a background in Project Management, including infrastructure and/or engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for providing independent assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization. This role combines traditional audit responsibilities with strong project management capabilities to ensure timely delivery of audit engagements, especially those related to strategic initiatives and infrastructure projects. Your duties will keep you firmly on your toes and make your days streak by. These will include: Planning, executing, and reporting on internal audit engagements with a focus on project governance and delivery. Assessing project management practices, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Evaluation of Council's compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations. Providing recommendations to improve project controls, risk mitigation, and value for money. Collaboration with project teams, PMOs, and senior stakeholders to ensure audit findings are actionable. Monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations and report progress to management. Supporting the development of the annual audit plan with a focus on high-risk projects and programs. Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, PMP, or PRINCE2. Proven experience in internal audit and project management within complex environments. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2). Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and deliver results within deadlines.
