About the opportunity AUSTRAC is seeking to fill position Manager, Pay and Conditions to manage and uplift our Payroll Operations and HR systems. Your day will involve working closely with key stakeholders, uncovering unique, HR and payroll challenges to build solutions that deliver measurable results. You'll be leading a motivated team of payroll professionals that manage end-to-end payroll process for approximately 850 staff, ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time. As a trusted adviser, you'll develop smooth, effective processes and procedures to align with legislation and APS policy. What are we looking for Applied knowledge and experience in: Human Resources Understanding and demonstrated capability in applying human resources principles and expertise. The key duties of the position include The Manager Pay and Conditions under broad direction is responsible for: Leading and managing a highly dedicated team of five staff to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the pay and conditions function including capability development and maintaining high levels of staff engagement and performance. Planning and prioritising continuous improvement to business processes, including identifying opportunities to better utilise enterprise technologies. In collaboration with the Manager, HRIS, ensuring HR system (Aurion) capabilities and processes are fit for purpose by identifying and providing subject matter expertise to upgrades and enhancements. Developing and maintaining practices and systems to enhance the client experience of AUSTRAC employees in relation to pay and conditions matters. Managing relationships with third parties who support AUSTRAC's human resource processes and systems. Continuously assessing relevant best practice and and APS wide developments, including conducting research, to guide human resource led initiatives. Identifying risks relevant to pay and conditions, implementing appropriate risk controls and escalating risks where appropriate. Providing expert conditions of employment and policy advice to the Director Employee Experience and National Manager People and Business Solutions. Proactively cultivating opportunities for collaboration with other business units on relevant work. Providing high level subject matter expertise in relation to Overseas Conditions of Service as they apply to AUSTRAC employees, including the oversight of the accurate payment of relevant allowances. Drafting Individual Flexibility Agreements (IFA) and providing advice on IFA matters. Developing and/or implementing policies, guidelines and procedures reflecting legislation and APS policy in relation to employment matters.
