The Client Foamco Industries Pty Ltd has been manufacturing and distributing our range of polyurethane foams to a variety of Australian furniture and bedding businesses, providing them with value for money and quality foam products. They now seek an experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join their team in Acacia Ridge, QLD. The Role The role is a full time position with an annual salary set at $77,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. Responsibilities This Position holder will have responsibility to design and produce drawing for various customer/ company requested designs, along with testing the design to achieve the results required by the customer/company. Performing and directing floor works and quality assurance. Prepare detailed civil and structural engineering drawings for factory infrastructure, plant layouts, and facility upgrades. Preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for engineering works such as AutoCAD, Inventor and other drawings for customer designs Interpret civil engineering sketches, technical specifications, and design briefs to produce accurate and compliant drafting documentation Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards (AS1100, AS3600, AS1170) and local council requirements. Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, and contractors to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective. Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ) and assist in estimating material and labour requirements for civil works. Performing and directing floor works and quality assurance. Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations Inspecting product engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance Conducting tests of products The Requirements Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Draftsman or equivalent qualification. At least 2 years' relevant experience in professional capacity At least 2 years' experience working in a civil engineering or manufacturing environment, supporting infrastructure or plant expansion projects. At least 2 years' experience working with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). At least 2 years' experience interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and survey data for construction documentation. At least 2 years' experience applying Australian Standards in civil drafting, reinforcement detailing, and concrete design. At least 2 years' experience preparing documentation for local council submissions and compliance reports. At least 2 years' experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on integrated site design and construction support. Strong understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical tolerances. Knowledge of polyurethane foam manufacturing processes preferred. Ability to communicate in a clear and understandable manner
