THE ROLE The Victorian Government is undertaking significant reform of the youth justice system through the new Youth Justice Act 2024, which introduces a rehabilitive, therapeutic, culturally safe and child-centred approach. A key element of this reform is strengthening information sharing between Child Protection and Youth Justice. Historically, limited or inconsistent information exchange has contributed to fragmented responses, risks to safety, and poorer outcomes for children and young people engaged with both systems. Initially reporting to the Principal Project Manager, the Senior Program Adviser will lead the implementation planning phase for the establishment of the new information sharing arrangements in the department, to be located in the Information Sharing Team (IST) in COPL. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE The Senior Program Adviser will:  Lead the planning, design, and delivery of projects to implement new information sharing provisions between Child Protection and Youth Justice on behalf of the Information Sharing team.  Interpret and apply legislative and policy requirements, ensuring operational practices align with the Youth Justice Act 2024, the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, and related information sharing schemes (FVISS, CISS). * Develop and maintain practice guidance, tools, and resources to support staff to share information appropriately and consistently.
