Our opportunity We have an opportunity for an Assistant Community Development Officer to join our team, you will be responsible for realising community development and social sustainability outcomes across our masterplanned community projects in NSW. The role is responsible for the planning and delivery of a broad range of community-building and placemaking initiatives throughout the entire development process. The position will play an important role in enhancing resident belonging, community wellbeing and connection through stakeholder engagement, programming, partnerships and other community-strengthening initiatives including delivering onsite community activities and events. As a community-facing role, engagement will be with a wide range of stakeholders, including community groups, local government, and diverse residents of the Mirvac’s projects and neighbouring areas. The ultimate aim of the role and delivery of Community Development strategies is to deliver exemplar social sustainability outcomes in line with Mirvac’s strategy for net positive community legacy, enhance Mirvac’s competitive advantage and brand credibility through the development of sustainable, empowered and resilient communities. This role is full time and primarily based at our Prestons office and requires flexible working across other sites including Mirvac’s head office in Sydney CBD. The current MPC sites include The Village, Menangle; Cobbitty by Mirvac, Cobbitty; Riverlands by Mirvac, Milperra; Everdene at Mulgoa; and WSU at Milperra. Your point of difference You will have: Demonstrated experience in delivering community programs, managing events, strategic activations and coordinating community development An understanding of Asset Based Community Development Highly developed stakeholder engagement abilities including an understanding of IAP2 principles High-level of computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop publishing tools such as Canva and email marketing software (Salesforce) Demonstrated operational and strategic experience in leading community development Demonstrated experience of strategy development, program design and workshop facilitation Proven experience in successful pre-Development Approval community consultation with critical issues and communications management Possess the capacity to work largely independently and to set priorities, plan/organise work and meet deadlines Capacity and preparedness to work flexible hours, including after-hours/weekend work as required at various project locations, First Aid certificate A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience in Placemaking, Community Development and/or Social Sustainability A current driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required A police background check is required Current Working with Children’s Check All of these attributes are preferred, if you think you may be the right fit for the role please still apply.
