About the role We are recruiting for a Senior Project Officer in the Strategic Land use Planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going management of Council’s land use planning policy framework. This includes leading and managing the preparation of strategies, policies and precinct plans; planning proposals (Local Environmental Plan amendments); and Development Control Plans. About You You are Tertiary qualified in town planning or equivalent and have considerable experience in statutory and/or strategic land use planning. Applicants may have experience in the following; however, this is not essential; culture, economic development, social or environment. You will also bring: Senior experience (ideally 5 years) leading and managing strategic land use projects. Extensive knowledge in statutory and strategic land use planning or allied professional experience and an understanding of the NSW planning system, with a track record of achieving strategic objectives with demonstrated success in working with or for the public sector. Established written and verbal communication skills that can adapt to a diverse range of audiences. Experience in analytical, creative thinking and problem solving across a range of strategic projects and multi-disciplinary teams. Proven ability to work with initiative and versatility on a wide range of matters, including solving a range of complex planning related problems through innovation and collaboration. Essential qualifications Tertiary qualifications in town planning or equivalent and considerable experience in statutory and/or strategic land use planning. What’s on offer We are offering an attractive remuneration from $121,367 - $133,651 plus 12% superannuation. This role is permanent full time and within the City Planning and Design Directorate.
