Description Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) is seeking a skilled and proactive Data & Analytics Specialist to join our Technology, Data & Information team. This role plays a key part in delivering operational excellence by ensuring our core financial data is accurate, governed, and available within agreed SLAs. You’ll lead the delivery of decision-ready insights via Power BI, manage data issues, and drive continuous improvement through strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Ensure QTC’s core financial dataset is accurate, governed, and available within agreed SLAs. Deliver reliable Power BI reports and insights to support internal and external decision-making. Own and resolve data exceptions, embedding preventative controls to protect BAU and month-end timelines. Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models and dashboards. Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions and support adoption. Contribute to data governance policies and maintain Microsoft Purview artefacts. Leverage Power Platform and Azure Data Services to build automated, reliable data pipelines. Support key data initiatives including the Unified Data Program. Assist with onboarding and provide guidance on BAU operational tasks. About You You’re a data professional with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and delivering insights that make a difference. Technical Skills Proficient in SQL and Power BI (including Power Automate and Microsoft Fabric). Experience with Azure DevOps and either Python or R. Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and data governance principles. Strong data modelling and dashboard design skills. Understanding of financial products and calculations. Behavioural & Leadership Competencies Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Takes ownership and supports others through coaching and feedback. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Degree in Data Science, IT, Finance, Mathematics, or related discipline. Desirable: Finance qualifications, Microsoft Power BI/Fabric certifications, Azure Databricks, Python/R certifications. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a corporate environment; financial services experience highly regarded.
